Within the framework of the ERFAN Information Days, the online vocational training course titled “Detection of Salmonella spp.  according to ISO6579-1:2017” will start next week.On 29March, the first live online session is scheduled.  Three other meetings are planned on the following days:  6, 23 and 30 of April.

Organized in collaboration with the OIE Collaborating Centre for Food Safety in Teramo and the National and the Central Veterinary Laboratory in Windhoek, the training course has  the purpose to deepen topics related to these pathogenic microorganisms and to share technical-scientific updates on analytical methods used in laboratory for testing, serological typing and molecular typing, included genomic data.

The African participants come from National Veterinary Laboratories and Veterinary schools of SADC Region as Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and National Veterinary Laboratories and Veterinary Schools of Northwest Africa as Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, and Sudan.

The expert from the OIE Collaborating Centre for Food Safety in Teramo and National and from the Central Veterinary Laboratory in Windhoek will be the trainers: Dr Francesco Pomilio, Dr Gabriella Centorotola and Dr Daniela D’Angelantonio, Dr Siegfried Khaiseb and Dr Renatus Shilangale.

The ERFAN ID vocational training course is delivered in English.
