ERFAN, in collaboration with the WOAH Reference Laboratory for CBPP established in Teramo, organises the Sync Dialogue on “Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, suspicion of the disease”. The online course is scheduled for the 29 April, h. 10.30 – 13 (CEST).

The event responds to a request for training expressed by the WOAH Sub-Regional Representation for North Africa (Tunis) and the veterinary services of Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia, with the aim of enhancing expertise in appropriate passive surveillance activities and in detecting suspected cases of Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP) in countries where the disease has never been historically notified.

The course will present clinical studies and a rich iconography of pathological images in the different phases of the evolution of the disease, which will be useful for raising a possible suspicion of fibrinous pneumonia, particularly with regard to CBPP.

A practical approach will be favoured, based on the use of videos showing the clinical symptoms and an interesting iconography of the various pathological features of the disease, available from the WOAH reference laboratory for CBPP of IZS Teramo, compared with the pathological features of diseases commonly found in the North African region.
