In line with the farm to fork strategy, for a transition to fair, healthy and resilient livestock production systems, including the reduction of anti-microbial usage, a successful proposal will support research and innovation (R&I) to help research funders, policy makers and business operators in decreasing the burden of infectious animal diseases, thus contributing to sustainable agriculture and to public health at global level. Considering the transboundary nature of infectious animal diseases and relate issues such as anti-microbial resistance, providing support to the work of the STAR-IDAZ International Research Consortium (IRC) will facilitate international coordination of research in these domains.
