Enhancing Capacity for Strategic and Applied Research Activities in Support of Control and Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases
The Department of Health and Human Services of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has launched a call to expand CDC’s network of collaborating institutes for both research with, and technical assistance to, neglected tropical diseases-endemic countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. The purpose of this Notice of funding opportunity is to advance strategic and operational research in support of neglected tropical disease (NTD) control and elimination, particularly in sub-Saharan African NTD-endemic countries. Funded activities may include program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and surveillance. Additionally, this NOFO will support research that will provide tools and information to improve NTD and parasitic vector-borne disease program activities, and where feasible the integration of evaluation and surveillance activities for multiple NTDs and parasitic vector-borne diseases.
The estimated total funding available, including direct and indirect costs, for the entire 5-year project period is $9.5M.
