The next week the online vocational training course “Contagious Bovine Pleuro-Pneumonia Overview of the disease” starts.On 15February, the first live online session is scheduled.  Three other meetings are planned: 22 February, 1 and 8of March.

The TC aims to  share  technical-scientific updates  on  different  aspects  of  the  disease: Clinical  symptoms;    Pathological  lesions; Laboratory   diagnostic   methods   such   as,   Microbiological   isolation   and   typing   of   Mycoplasma  mycoides  subsp mycoides  (Mmm),   Molecular detection  and  typing  of Mmmincluding genomic data interpretation (Bioinformatics) and control of the disease.

Participants are from National Veterinary Laboratories and Veterinary schools of Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The TC will involve three OIE Reference Laboratories: CBPP OIE Reference Laboratory in Gaborone, CBPP OIE Reference Laboratory in Teramo and OIE Reference laboratory for Contagious Agalactiae.

Colleagues from two countries involved in the OIE Twinning projects with the CBPP OIE RL in Teramo (Zambia and Ethiopia) attended the meeting.
